Reactor Units for Small Nuclear Power Plants

Abstract

The scientific, engineering, and production potential created in our country in the field of nuclear shipbuilding is of exceptional importance. In nuclear ship technologies, a special appearance of reactor units has been formed, the characteristic features of which are extreme compactness and increased reliability and survivability. Based on the experience of creating and improving ship and naval reactors, Afrikantov OKBM has developed a number of projects for innovative reactor units for low-power nuclear energy sources. This report presents the main scientific, technical, and economic aspects of creating innovative reactor units such as ABV, KLT, RITM, and VBER.
