Identification of the Reaction Mechanism of Linear Irreversible Sequential Reactions

Abstract

The article shows how the analysis of limited kinetic data (separate kinetic curves or even parts of them) for the set of sequential reactions with close values of the rate constants of separate stages allows one to get insight into the reaction mechanism, in particular, to find the stage number in which the substance with the constructed kinetic curve is present. The proposed method gives the plausible results when analyzing well-known kinetic curves of hydrocarbon oxidation.
