An Autonomous Acoustic Logger and Its Application as Part of a Hydrophysical Complex

Abstract

This paper describes the design solutions and characteristics of autonomous acoustic loggers and a brief description of the elements of the measuring hydrophysical complex (acoustic emitters, thermal strings, etc.), in which they are used. The technical capabilities of acoustic loggers allow one to quickly create various configurations of discrete antenna arrays and acoustic interferometers. Based on the data that are obtained from such receiving systems as parts of a hydrophysical complex it is possible to diagnose the water environment and bottom sediments, as well as evaluate the acoustic characteristics of various sound sources. Some methods and approaches for solving such problems are proposed and examples are presented.
