Abstract
Reaction of polyvinyl chloride with calcium and magnesium oxides was studied. The dependence of binding with metal oxides of hydrogen chloride formed by polyvinyl chloride dehydrochlorination on the oxide to polymer weight ratio and on temperature was examined. The activation energies and specific rates of formation of the corresponding metal chlorides were calculated. Conditions of complete chloride binding into environmentally safe products were found.
