Abstract
The degradation characteristics of L-C150SRCT GaAlAs LEDs intended for use in television pyrometers as reference radiation sources have been investigated in the experiment. It is shown that an increase in the ambient temperature to 50–60°C and in the operating current to 20 mA helps minimize the effect of the degradation processes over the initial 4000-h operating time. In addition, the temperature dependence of the luminous intensity is substantially lowered.
