Abstract
The diagnosis and treatment of submucosal tumors can be challenging. Historically these masses frequently required laparoscopic or thoracoscopic resection for both diagnosis and management. Advancements in endoscopy have led to reliable and safe access to the submucosal space which has led to various techniques for the treatment of diverse esophageal and gastric pathologies. Submucosal tunneling endoscopic resection is a technique that allows for the resection of submucosal tumors with excellent complete resection rates and an acceptable side effect profile without the need for a skin incision.
