Abstract

THIS ARTICLE OUTLINES A SUCCESS STORY of divergent academic units working together to provide efficient and effective support for faculty at the University of South Florida. The Virtual Instructional Team for the Advancement of Learning (VITAL) combines the expertise of existing campus resources and provides the valuable services and support necessary for faculty interested in technology-enhanced teaching.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Dr. Ann Barron is an Associate Professor in the Instructional Technology program at the University of South Florida. She is also the Director of the Florida Center for Instructional Technology and the author of several books related to multimedia, the Internet, and technologies in education.

Dr. Chet Lyskawa is a Program Director/Instructor in the College of Education at the University of South Florida. He is responsible for coordinating VITAL’s efforts within the Florida Center for Instructional Technology.
