  • Alexandre Fürstenberg

Alexandre Fürstenberg obtained his PhD in the field of ultrafast dynamics of biomolecules with Prof. Eric Vauthey at the University of Geneva in 2007. After moving into single-molecule spectroscopy and imaging working with Prof. W. E. Moerner at Stanford University, he became a junior group leader (SNSF Ambizione fellow, Univ. of Geneva) in 2010 and was a visiting researcher at the Goethe University in Frankfurt and at the Rockefeller University in New York. He is now a group leader and lecturer at the University of Geneva where his research focuses on the development of quantitative nanoscale fluorescence spectroscopy and imaging tools.

  • Tatu Kumpulainen

Tatu Kumpulainen studied chemistry at the Tampere University of Technology, where he obtained his diploma in 2010. He completed his Ph.D. in 2015 in the group of Prof. Fred Brouwer at the University of Amsterdam. He then moved to University of Geneva, where he worked first as a post-doctoral researcher in the group of Prof. Eric Vauthey during 2015–2017 and from 2018 as a junior group leader (SNSF Ambizione fellow). Since October 2020, he works as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, where he leads a research group focusing on studies on excited-state proton transfer in liquid phase and heterogeneous media.
