Abstract

The cloacal membrane appears between the fourth and the fifth week and separates the cloaca from the amniotic cavity. Furthermore, the urorectal septum divides the cloaca into the urogenital sinus and the hindgut, the former being the precursor of the bladder and posterior urethra [1].
