Abstract
The focus of this chapter: During TBM operation, a fault of any of its systems will lead to downtime, thus affecting the tunneling efficiency. Therefore, standardized operation, scientific management and normalized inspection and maintenance are indispensable to effective TBM tunneling. In addition, a scientific disassembly process after TBM tunneling is of great significance in extending the service life of TBM. In this chapter, TBM maintenance and disassembly procedures are explained in detail from the above two aspects, covering TBM maintenance, back-up maintenance of main machine, disassembly methods in the tunnel, and storage during disassembly to improve the scientific use of TBM and increase its service efficiency and service life.
