Abstract

Highlights: This chapter firstly introduces the failure mode of TBM disc cutter from two aspects: normal wear and abnormal damage of disc cutter, then analyzes the influencing factors of disc cutter wear from geological, mechanical, geometrical and material aspects, introduces the theoretical prediction model and indoor test method of TBM disc cutter wear again, and introduces the TBM cutter management process from two aspects: inspection and replacement of TBM cutter in the tunnel, and inspection and maintenance of cutter workshop.
