Abstract
In the course of 1982 and 1983 Unidroit continued its work not only in the field of maritime law but also in other areas falling within the general compass of international trade law. A summary of the progress made in respect of each subject is given below. In addition, the Institute pursued its policy of maintaining close links with the principal organisations responsible for the unification of maritime law such as IMO, UNCITRAL, UNCTAD and the CMI, while the Secretariat of Unidroit also played an important role in the International Conference on the Harmonisation of the Maritime Law of African Countries held in Venice in May 1982.
