Samenvatting

Het doel van dit hoofdstuk is het verwerven van kennis over de fysiologie van de voortplanting bij de man en de vrouw in de verschillende levensfasen. Ook wordt er ingegaan op enkele pathofysiologische mechanismen die belangrijk zijn in het begrijpen van cyclusstoornissen, onvruchtbaarheid, veroudering en voortplanting. Omdat er momenteel veel aandacht is voor een tekort aan testosteron bij mannen besteden we hier in dit hoofdstuk extra aandacht aan, waarbij we ook ingaan op de behandeling.
