Neoplasms of Paraneurons: Paraneuromas

  • Chapter
The Paraneuron

Abstract

Neoplasms are masses of cells which proliferate without normal control and without any useful function. Neoplasms of paraneurons, like those of other categories of cells, are designated by the suffix “-oma” (adapted from the Greek word “onkoma,” meaning tumor). Thus, the term paraneuroma indicates neoplasms of the paraneurons.
