Abstract
Following the methodology of studying a tree community described in Chapter 1, we designed this study (1) to cover the entire life cycle of the trees, (2) to integrate the population studies of component species into a community-level target for the forest, and (3) to be able to continue our long-term observations. We set up a permanent core plot in Ogawa Forest Reserve (OFR), and carried out additional investigations in and around that plot.
