Abstract
This volume comes at the conclusion of four years of research at TU Wien made possible by the Daimler and Benz Foundation. During this time, assessment of the potential and impact of connected and automated vehicles underwent a fundamental transformation. The findings of the core team and of the international authors of this volume have contributed to this process in various ways.
