Zusammenfassung
Zu den relevanten Erkrankungen von Thorax und Wirbelsäule bei Kindern und Jugendlichen gehören die Brustwanddeformitäten (Trichterbrust, Kielbrust) sowie die idiopathische Skoliose. Hier ist der Kinder- und Jugendarzt häufig erster Ansprechpartner, wenn Eltern und Kindern eine Andersartigkeit im Aussehen bei den Brustwanddeformitäten oder eine progrediente Fehlhaltung bei idiopathischer Skoliose auffällt. Hier kann der Kinderarzt eine erste Beurteilung und Beratung vornehmen. Subakut manifestiert sich die Spondylodiszitis, die sich häufig mit unspezifischen Symptomen wie reduziertem Allgemeinzustand und Gehverweigerung präsentiert. Da es sich in der Regel um eine Ausschlussdiagnose handelt, wird diese häufig spät gestellt und die Behandlung damit hinausgezögert. Die Kenntnis dieses seltenen Krankheitsbildes ist damit für den Kinderarzt als wichtige Differenzialdiagnose von Wert.
