Zusammenfassung

Nach einer kurzen Zusammenfassung der wesentlichen Grundlagen der Embryologie, Anatomie und Physiologie der Vagina und einer kurzen Erläuterung der wesentlichen Fehlentwicklungen werden die pathologischen Einflussfaktoren wie Traumen, Verletzungen oder mögliche negative Folgen medizinischer Behandlungen erläutert. Neben konservativen Therapieansätzen werden die Möglichkeiten der Bildung einer Neovagina-Anlage durch unterschiedliche Behandlungsprinzipien erläutert und illustriert. Im Einzelnen werden Methoden der Selbstdehnung und operative Methoden unterteilt nach unterschiedlichen Techniken (Dissektionsmethoden, Dissektionsmethoden mit Auskleiden des Scheidenrohres durch Peritoneum, Traktionsmethoden, Interpositionsmethoden mit Darm und Lappenplastiken) dargestellt. Als Abschluss stellen die Autoren die Kriterien dar, die an ihrer Institution zur Auswahl des individuellen Therapieverfahrens angewendet werden.
