Zusammenfassung
In der Meteorologie wird unterschieden zwischen Wetter, Witterung und Klima. Als Wetter wird der Zustand der unteren Atmosphäre (Troposphäre) zu einer bestimmten Zeit und an einem bestimmten Ort bezeichnet, abgelesen an Wetterelementen wie der Lufttemperatur, dem Luftdruck, Wind, Niederschlag, Luftfeuchtigkeit, Bewölkung und Sonneneinstrahlung. Witterung dagegen ist ein typischer Ablauf des Wettergeschehens über einen längeren Zeitraum in einer Region; zum Beispiel die Eisheiligen oder der Spätsommer.
