Zusammenfassung

Dieses Kapitel handelt von Synthese und Analytik der Oligosaccharide. Es wird zunächst die rein prinzipiell viel höhere Komplexität dieser Biopolymere besprochen. Dadurch kann auch im Rahmen dieses Buches die Methodik nicht in dem Maße wie bei der Peptidsynthese durchgearbeitet werden. Es sollen nur die wesentlichen Prinzipien angeführt werden. Die wichtigsten Schutzgruppen sowie die verschiedenen Methoden zur Herstellung der glycosidischen Bindung werden natürlich vorgestellt. Es wird auch die vielleicht noch nicht voll etablierte Festphasensynthese behandelt. Im analytischen Teil wird vor allem die chemische Methodik zur Verknüpfungsanalyse vorgestellt. Dem Thema Glycokonjugate ist ein eigenes Kapitel (Kap. 5) gewidmet.
