Zusammenfassung

Infektionen während der Schwangerschaft sind besonders gefürchtet, da nicht nur die Mutter, sondern auch das Kind gefährdet ist. Infektionsbedingte Komplikationen für das Kind beinhalten u. a.:

  • eine direkte fetale Schädigung (Embryopathie, Fetopathie).

  • eine indirekte fetale Schädigung (Frühgeburt, Spontanabort).

  • eine intrapartale Infektion des Kindes mit späteren gesundheitlichen Folgen.

Eine Infektion der Mutter birgt ebenfalls Risiken wie u. a. eine Exazerbation der Infektion, eine Reaktivierung latenter mütterlicher Infektion sowie aszendierende Infektionen. Eine frühe Erkennung einer Infektion in der Schwangerschaft ist unabdingbar, um mögliche Schäden für die Mutter und das Kind frühzeitig zu behandeln. Dementsprechend stellt die maternale und präpartale Diagnose den wichtigsten Schritt einer weiterführenden Therapie dar.
