Abstract

THE DEVELOPMENT IN RECENT YEARS of relatively simple immunohistologic techniques for the demonstration of antigens in tissue sections has greatly aided pathologists in the routine diagnosis of many neoplastic conditions.1 Such investigations received further impetus with the advent of techniques for the production of monoclonal antibodies2 and with the increased availability of a wide range of antibodies reactive with various tumor types.3 The categorization of undifferentiated neoplasms, discrimination between reactive and neoplastic lymphoproliferative disorders and the classification of lymphomas has been particularly improved with these reagents.
