Zusammenfassung

Der Binnenraum des Kehlkopfes reicht von seinem Eingang bis zum Übergang in die Luftröhre am Unterrand des Ringknorpels. Seine Länge beträgt ventral etwa 6,5 cm und dorsal nur etwa 3,5 cm. Kranial und kaudal klafft der Binnenraum, dazwischen ist er zum Spalt der Stimmritze eingeschnürt. Diese anatomische Anordnung verleiht dem Kehlkopf seine charakteristische sanduhrartige Form im mittleren Frontalschnitt. Der Raum zwischen den Stimmbändern wird als Glottis bezeichnet. Entsprechend der topographischen Anordnung erfolgt die Einteilung in ein oberes Vestibulum laryngis, mittleres Spatium glotticum (Kehlkopfenge) und unteres Spatium subglotticum, das zur Luftröhre überleitet (Abb. 18.1).
