Zusammenfassung
Digitale Zwillinge sind ein Schlüsselkonzept zur Anwendung von künstlicher Intelligenz im Bauwesen, da sie die Basis für eine systematische und strukturierte Vernetzung von relevanten Daten in Bauprojekten darstellen, was wiederum die Anwendung von künstlicher Intelligenz erleichtern kann. Jedoch ist gegenwärtig nicht ganz klar was (i) einen digitalen Zwilling im Bauwesen ausmacht, (ii) wie man zu einem digitalen Zwilling in datentechnisch-heterogenen Projekt- und Stakeholder-Konstellationen kommt und (iii) welche Vorteile dieser für baupraktische Anwendungen bringen kann. Dieses Kapitel adressiert die angeführten Fragestellungen, indem das aktuelle Verständnis des digitalen Zwillings mit Blick auf den gegenwärtigen Stand der Technik eingeordnet, ein Bezug zum Konzept des Building Information Modellings hergestellt, sowie darauf basierend der Versuch einer Begriffsdefinition unternommen wird. Neben den definitorischen Grundlagen werden technologische und informationstechnische Voraussetzungen beschrieben wie ein digitaler Zwilling praktisch implementiert und betrieben werden kann. Ferner wird die mögliche Rolle eines derartigen digitalen Zwillings für die Anwendung von Methoden der künstlichen Intelligenz im Bauwesen erörtert sowie der zukünftige Forschungs- und Entwicklungsbedarf in dieser Hinsicht aufgezeigt.
