Zusammenfassung
Die Studie Das gekaufte Herz von Arlie Russell Hochschild darf als einer der seltenen Glücksfälle der (emotions)soziologischen Forschung bezeichnet werden, bei denen aus den empirischen Befunden einer Feldforschung weitgehende theoretische Einsichten über emotionale Phänomene und Prozesse gewonnen werden konnten.

September 2001 haben sich die Gefühlsregeln an Bord von Passagiermaschinen mittlerweile offenbar insofern geändert, als das Bordpersonal eine stärker ordnungsetzende Funktion übernimmt und darin größere normative Autonomie im Verhalten gegenüber Passagieren erlangt (vgl.
