Zusammenfassung
Die landwirtschaftliche Produktion befindet sich in einem Spannungsfeld. Zum einen hat sie als kritische Infrastruktur die Aufgabe, eine wachsende Weltbevölkerung zuverlässig zu ernähren und mit Energie zu versorgen. Hinzu kommen Herausforderungen wie die Auswirkungen des Klimawandels, ein begrenztes Flächenangebot sowie steigende Ansprüche von Verbraucher*innen. Zum anderen sollen die durch die Landwirtschaft verursachten negativen Umweltwirkungen, wie der globale Verlust an Biodiversität und die Emission von Treibhausgasen, reduziert werden. Der zunehmende Einsatz digitaler Technologien wird dabei häufig als Lösungsansatz beschrieben, der einen präzisen, bedarfsorientierten Ackerbau ermöglicht. Ziel der Arbeit ist daher die Identifikation von Chancen und Risiken der landwirtschaftlichen Digitalisierung für einen ökologischeren Ackerbau. Dazu wird eine ganzheitliche und umweltbezogene Betrachtung vorgenommen. Hierfür werden mittels einer Analyse von aktueller Literatur die Potenziale digitaler Technologien für eine Reduzierung der Umweltwirkungen einzelner ackerbaulicher Arbeitsschritte untersucht. Außerdem erfolgt eine Betrachtung von Rebound-Effekten, die eine Digitalisierung hinsichtlich einer ökologischeren Produktion aufweist. Es konnte gezeigt werden, dass digitale Technologien in der Lage sind, zu einer deutlichen Reduzierung der negativen Umweltwirkungen der Landwirtschaft beizutragen. Insbesondere die Verminderung der Applikationsmengen von Düngemitteln und Pestiziden durch Kartierungsverfahren, Sensorik und präzise Ausbringung können zu zahlreichen ökologischen Vorteilen führen. Voraussetzung dafür ist jedoch die Minimierung der bestehenden Risiken in Form von Rebound-Effekten.
