Zusammenfassung

Granovetters Schwellenwertmodell zielt auf die Erklärung kollektiven Verhaltens ab und stellt eine Weiterentwicklung von Schellings (1971) dynamischer Analyse von Segregationsprozessen in Stadtvierteln dar. Dem Modell liegt die Einsicht zugrunde, dass Auftreten und Ausmaß kollektiver Handlungen durch die Vorlieben, Zielsetzungen und Normvorstellungen der beteiligten Personen nur unzureichend erklärt werden können. Granovetter rückt stattdessen Interaktionen persönlicher Präferenzen und die Aggregation individueller Handlungen in den Vordergrund.
