Abstract
Vocational decisions belong to the central developmental tasks in young adulthood. To cope with this task depends on characteristics of decision making. It also depends on the goal to find a profession that fits with the personality. This paper works on the question how the characteristics of the decision process as “attainment of the ideal profession”, “procrastination” and “information gathering” correlate with the perceived fit. The study includes three decision situations, the entry into VET, the exit from the VET and the professional situation 3-6 years After having received VET diploma. Multiple group comparisons show that these characteristics of decision making equally correlate with the perceived fit.
