Zusammenfassung
Motive und Motivation werden als Ursache von Bewegung und Veränderung gesehen. Motivation schließt Energie und Erregung ein. Sie richtet ein vorhandenes Energiepotential, welches zunächst ungerichtet ist, auf bestimmte Ziele aus. Motivation hat also eine Steuerungsfunktion. Motive sind auch der Grund der Intensität (Antriebsfunktion), möglicher Aktivitäten. Verhalten ist immer eine Funktion von Umwelt- und Persönlichkeitsvariablen, d. h. sowohl die Umwelt als auch die Persönlichkeit einer Person lösen das Verhalten in einer ganz konkreten Situation aus.

Die Namensgebung spielt auf das Überschreiten des norditalienischen Flusses Rubicone durch die Legionen Julius Cäsars im Jahre 49 v. Chr. an, was einen römischen Bürgerkrieg zwischen Cäsar und Pompeius auslöste.

Hierbei wird den Teilnehmern entweder die Aufgabe gestellt, darüber nachzudenken (und ggf. aufzulisten) warum es Sinn macht eine bestimme Tätigkeit zu machen (z. B. Warum ist es sinnvoll Gesundheitsvorsorge zu betreiben?), oder sie werden aufgefordert, darüber nachzudenken (und ggf. aufzulisten) wie sie eine bestimme Tätigkeit ausüben können (z. B. Wie kann ich Gesundheitsvorsorge betreiben?). Ersteres induziert ein abstraktes mind-set und letzteres ein konkretes mind-set.

Priming bezeichnet die automatische Aktivierung von kognitiven Inhalten durch bloße Präsentation von Stimuli, häufig werden z. B. Wortsortierungsaufgaben verwendet, bei der die Probanden Listen von Begriffen nach ihrer Häufigkeit ihrer Verwendung sortieren sollen. Diese Begriffslisten bestehen dann zumeist aus neutralen Begriffen, in die eine bestimme Anzahl von solchen Begriffen eingestreut sind, welche das in Frage stehende Konstrukt aktivieren sollen.

Framing bezeichnet den Effekt, dass bei unterschiedlicher Formulierung aber bei gleich bleibenden Inhalt Verhaltensveränderungen zu beobachten sind. Sehr intensiv untersucht wurde beispielsweise, dass sich das Entscheidungsverhalten in Bezug auf Risikoneigung in einem Gewinn-Framing systematisch von dem in einem Verlust-Framing (bei konstant gehaltenen Nettoauszahlungsbeträgen) unterscheidet (vgl. z. B. Tversky und Kahneman 1981).

„Out-degree centrality“ ist ein Maß für die Einflussmöglichkeiten eines Akteurs in Netzwerken. Etwas vereinfacht gesagt lässt sich Begriff mit dem Ausmaß an Außenvernetzung umschreiben: Je mehr, je unterschiedliche und umso weiter entfernte Vernetzungen über die ein Akteur verfügt, über die andere vergleichbare Akteure nicht verfügen, desto höher ist seine „out-degree centrality“. Eine geringe “out-degree centrality“ liegt vor wenn eng lokalisierte Akteure eng (mehrfach) untereinander aber wenig nach außen vernetzt sind.

Kruglanski et al. 2002 verwenden für die Benennung beider Führungsstile die Begriffe forceful leadership und advisory leadership um eine bewertende Konnotation mit politischen Wertedimensionen wie autokratisch versus demokratisch oder dergleichen zu vermeiden (vgl. hierzu auch Higgins et al. 2003, S. 322) Auch wenn wir diese Sichtweise teilen haben wir hier die im Deutschem Sprachraum gängigen Bezeichnungen gewählt, wobei der Begriff partizipativ dem bereits weitgehend Rechnung trägt.
