Zusammenfassung

Das Knochenmark enthält etwa 5 × 109 Erythroblasten/kg Körpergewicht, bei einem 70 kg schweren Erwachsenen also 350 × l09 Erythroblasten. Diese produzieren täglich etwa 170×109 Erythrozyten, d.h. pro Erythroblast tritt etwa alle 2 Tage 1 Erythrozyt in die Blutbahn über9. Bei einer durchschnittlichen Lebensdauer des einzelnen Erythrozyten von 120 Tagen werden täglich etwas weniger als 1% der gesamten Erythrozytenpopulation erneuert.
