Zusammenfassung

Nach einer Phase der Anstaltsfeindlichkeit und einer der Gemeindepsychiatrie ist nun von einer dritten Phase die Rede (Katschnig u. Koniecza 1984): Soziale Netzwerke sollen zum Dreh- und Angelpunkt psychiatrischer Hilfen werden. Schulberg u. Killilea (1982) sprechen von einer „wahren Explosion des Interesses an Strukturen, Funktionen und Prozessen sozialer Netzwerke und Stützsysteme“ (S 52; übersetzt vom Autor). Auf die präventiven und salutogenen Kräfte sozialer Netzwerke zu hoffen ist nicht neu. Schon 1974 hat Caplan soziale Stützsysteme als das wesentlichste Moment einer präventiv orientierenden Psychiatrie bezeichnet (vgl. auch Caplan u. Killelea 1974).
