Zusammenfassung
Primäre Kopfschmerzerkrankungen wie Migräne und Kopfschmerz vom Spannungstyp gehören zu den häufigsten Erkrankungen in der ärztlichen Praxis. Insgesamt geben 71,4% der Bundesbürger an, zumindest zeitweise während ihres Lebens an Kopfschmerzen zu leiden [I1]. Problematisch bei der Verwendung von Analgetika ist, daß die Migräne und der Kopfschmerz vom Spannungstyp oft über Jahre oder Jahrzehnte bestehende Kopfschmerzleiden darstellen [13]. Chronische Kopfschmerzkrankheiten gehören aufgrund ihrer weiten Verbreitung zu den großen Gesundheitsproblemen unserer Zeit. Für den Betroffenen bedeutet sie Leid und Behinderung, für das Gesundheitswesen und die Gesellschaft extreme Kosten — direkt durch die medizinische Versorgung, indirekt über Arbeitsausfall und vorzeitige Berentung [9]. Wenn man die Zahl von 2,4 Millionen Bundesbürgern betrachtet, die allein unter täglich auftretenden Kopfschmerzen leiden, läßt sich die Dimension der Problematik chronischer Schmerzen erahnen [11, 13].
