Abstract

Unfortunately, an anti-anginal medicine often fails to satisfy the clinical and pharmacological needs, namely oral administration and patient-specific dosage, a long-lasting and reproducible effect with no untoward effects on regulator systems and, if at all possible, no adverse effects on the patient’s general well-being. The increase in the effectiveness of a drug, or the “response curve”, becomes increasingly flat at higher doses. However, raising the dosage markedly increases the incidence of adverse reactions.
