Abstract

Renal hypouricemia is associated with various degrees of hyperuricosuria. This abnormality is the cause of two types of pathological manifestation: uric acid urolithiasis and uric acid nephropathy associated with acute renal failure. In the following, I shall elaborate on the various types of renal hypouricemia, on the mechanism of the renal tubular defect, and on the clinical pathological manifestations.
