Zusammenfassung

Durch die Entwicklung neuer Chemotherapieprogramme und multimodaler Behandlungskonzepte ist die Einstellung zur Systemtherapie des fortgeschrittenen Magenkarzinoms in den letzten Jahren wieder positiver geworden. Dies insbesondere, als auch mit sehr extensiven chirurgischen Eingriffen die Prognose dieses Tumors sich nicht entscheidend gebessert hat. Weiterhin versterben mehr als 80% aller Patienten mit einem neu diagnostizierten Magenkarzinom an ihrem Tumorleiden.
