Abstract

Glucocorticoids are widely used as potent anti-inflammatory drugs to treat many inflammatory and allergic diseases. The mechanism of action of these drugs has been widely researched and over the last ten years several hypotheses have evolved to account for the way in which steroids bring about their dramatic anti-inflammatory effects.
