Abstract
The technique for rat renal transplantation was originally described by Fisher and Lee in 1965 using a right heterotopic transplant with end-to-side anastomoses of the renal artery and vein. Since then, various techniques of this model have been well established using suture anastomoses of renal vessels. In 1976, Dunn reported the technique using a cuff for anastomosis of the renal artery in the rabbit.
