Zusammenfassung

Zahlreiche entzündliche Erkrankungen des Dünn- und Dickdarms ähneln sich im klinischen Verlauf, ihrer Symptomatik, den Laborparametern und dem endoskopischen und histologischen Erscheinungsbild. Dies bedeutet, daß die Reaktionsmöglichkeiten des Darms auf unterschiedliche Schädigungen begrenzt sind. Eine spezifische Diagnose ist deshalb nur auf dem Boden einer genauen Anamnese und klinischen Untersuchung, einer sorgfältigen mikrobiologischen Aufarbeitung von Stuhlproben und der Endoskopie und Biopsie unter Berücksichtung der zahlreichen Differentialdiagnosen möglich (Tabelle 37.1).
