Recent Advances in Diagnostic Neuroradiology

Part of the book series: Medical Radiology ((Med Radiol Diagn Imaging))

Abstract

The introduction of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the mid-eighties was a major step forward in the diagnosis and pretherapeutic set-up of brain tumors. As compared to computed tomography (CT), which was considered as the gold standard up to then, MRI offered several advantages.
