Zusammenfassung

Die Haut ist das größte Organ des Menschen und gleichzeitig Grenzschicht zwischen Umwelt und inneren Organen. Damit wird die Haut besonders zum Zielorgan der photooxidativen Wirkung von UVStrahlung. Das ist insofern von zunehmender Bedeutung, als das immer noch favorisierte falsche Gesundheits- und Schönheitsideal einer ganzjährig gebräunten Haut wesentlich zur hohen UV -Belastung der Haut beiträgt. Die Haut ist mit einem subtil regulierten Netzwerk verschiedener zur Entgiftung von reaktiven Sauerstoffspezies beitragender enzymatischer und nichtenzymatischer Antioxidanzien ausgestattet. Dieses Schutzsystem lässt jedoch in seiner protektiven Wirkung während der intrinsischen Alterung der Haut und auch anderer Organe nach und wird zudem durch reaktive Sauerstoffspezies, wie sie insbesondere bei akut einsetzender hochdosierter UV -Strahlung ohne vorherige langsame Gewöhnung der Haut auftreten, außer Kraft gesetzt.
