Zusammenfassung
Hunger und Sättigung sind komplexe psychophysiologische Zustände, die durch physiologische, biologische und soziale Faktoren gesteuert werden. Die biologischen Prozesse umfassen metabolische Faktoren im Magen-Darm-Trakt und komplexe endokrine und zentralnervöse Regulationsprozesse, v. a. im Hypothalamus. Psychologisch werden Hunger und Sättigung durch kognitive Prozesse (Aufmerksamkeitslenkung, motivational-emotionale Bewertung) beeinflusst, die ihrerseits wiederum durch neuroendokrine Faktoren moduliert werden. Kulturelle und soziale Normen beeinflussen ebenfalls das Hunger- und Sättigungserleben. Kurz- und langfristig wirksame humorale Faktoren wirken somit über psychologische Faktoren auf das erlebte Hunger- und Sättigungsgefühl, wodurch die Nahrungsaufnahme und das Körpergewicht reguliert werden.
