Zusammenfassung
Die Förderung positiver Entwicklungsergebnisse hat in den letzten Dekaden zunehmend an Bedeutung gewonnen. Grundlegend für solche Bemühungen ist das Konzept der Positiven Jugendentwicklung (PYD), das davon ausgeht, dass Jugendliche ohne Problemverhalten nicht notwendigerweise optimal angepasst und für das weitere Leben vorbereitet sind, sie vielmehr über Selbstbewusstsein, Kompetenzen, tragfähige Beziehung zu anderen und Charakterstärke verfügen und in die Gesellschaft integriert sein sollten. In diesem Beitrag werden das PYD-Konzept vorgestellt und empirische Befunde dazu zusammengefasst. Weiterhin werden Richtlinien und Beispiele für eine erfolgreiche Entwicklungsförderung im Sinne von PYD bei Jugendlichen dargestellt.
