Zusammenfassung

Die rasche Entwicklung enzym-histochemischer Methoden führte zu einer Reihe neuer Erkenntnisse über Beziehungen zwischen Struktur und Funktion im Nephron. Die Lokalisation einer Enzymaktivität im intakten Gewebe bildet zunächst eine wertvolle Ergänzung biochemischer Analyse. Die eigentliche Bedeutung der Enzymhistochemie liegt jedoch in der Möglichkeit, geringe funktionelle Veränderungen im Gewebe zu erfassen, welche weder histologischer Betrachtung noch biochemischer Untersuchung am Homogenat zugänglich sind.
