Zusammenfassung

In der Primärdiagnostik des Oesophaguskarzinoms kommt heute zunehmend die Endoskopie vor der konventionellen Röntgendiagnostik zur Anwendung. Zum präoperativen Staging wurde hingegen bislang vorwiegend die Computertomographie eingesetzt. Ihre Ergebnisse liegen jedoch weit hinter den Erwartungen zurück. Die CT vermag nicht, die Wandschichten der Speiseröhre und Lymphknoten unter 1 cm Durchmesser darzustellen.
