Abstract
This paper presents a new mechanism, Optimal of PRESENCE, of Enhanced Address Book (EAB) in Rich Communication Suite (RCS). Optimal of PRESENCE provides the ability of communication capability discovery for the contacts in EAB. It inherits the advantages of both PRESENCE and OPTIONS (the existing mechanisms of EAB), and largely decreases the network and terminal loads. Furthermore, we make a detailed comparison between Optimal of PRESENCE and two existing mechanisms, and give some advices for operators in the aspect of deployment.
