Die Anästhesiologie

Zusammenfassung

Regionale Anästhesieverfahren dominierten lange Zeit die anästhesiologische Praxis. Erst mit der Entwicklung moderner volatiler und intravenöser Anästhetika und besserer technischer Überwachungsmöglichkeiten wurde die Allgemeinanästhesie sicher genug für die breite Anwendung. In der Folge konnte sie die Regionalanästhesie zurückdrängen, da die Allgemeinanästhesie auch für den relativ Unerfahrenen schnell zu erlernen und vordergründig einfach durchführbar ist. Im Gegensatz dazu verlangt die Regionalanästhesie fundierte anatomische Kenntnisse, Geduld und Fingerspitzengefühl sowie die Bereitschaft zur psychischen Führung eines wachen Patienten. Die Kombination einer Allgemein- mit einer Regionalanästhesie schließlich verfolgt das Ziel, durch ein Regionalverfahren eine »flachere« Allgemeinanästhesie zu ermöglichen, wobei ersteres im Idealfall zur suffizienten postoperativen Analgesie genutzt wird.
