Zusammenfassung
Therapiefehler sind eine Realität, aber oft vermeidbar. Ihre Ursachen sind meist Wissenslücken und Irrtümer, aber auch Mängel in der Arzt-Patient-Beziehung sowie in der Betreuungssystematik und im Gesundheitssystem. Letzteres gilt vor allem für die Prävention des metabolischen Syndroms und des Typ-2-Diabetes. In der täglichen Praxis sind wir jedoch mit Behandlungsfehlern durch das medizinische Personal (Ärzte, Diabetesberater, Apotheker) und durch die Patienten, die sich im Intervall zwischen zwei Arztbesuchen selbst betreuen müssen, konfrontiert. Da fehlerloses Handeln dort, wo Menschen tätig sind, nicht zu erwarten ist, muss dem Vermeiden von Fehlern eine hohe Priorität eingeräumt werden. Entscheidend ist, dass Fehler erkannt, im Behandlungsteam diskutiert und anschließend vermieden bzw. korrigiert werden.
