Zusammenfassung
Migräne ist ein Störungsbild, das medizinisch und psychologisch sehr gut erforscht ist, besser z. B. als alle anderen chronischen Schmerzen. Dennoch gibt es über diesen Kopfschmerz sehr viele Irrtümer und Halbwahrheiten, die nur scheinbare Behandlungssicherheiten schaffen. In diesem Kapitel werden evidenzbasierte und auch klinisch plausible Befunde aufgezeigt. Klinische Muster der Migräne, ihre Klassifikation und Epidemiologie werden so dargestellt, dass sich der Leser oder die Leserin auch ohne spezielle Vorerfahrungen in diesem Störungsbild ausreichend orientieren kann. Es werden Befunde insbesondere aus den letzten Jahren, zur Ätiopathogenese und zu medizinischen und psychologischen Therapieansätzen dargestellt. Darüber hinaus werden auch syndromspezifische psychologische Behandlungsmöglichkeiten aufgezeigt, deren Evidenznachweis noch aussteht, die sich aber aus den Pathomechanismen der Migräne herleiten und die Chance bieten, in Zukunft nicht nur die Krankheitsbewältigung zu verbessern, sondern auch direkt in den Krankheitsprozess einzugreifen.
