Zusammenfassung

Der Pharynx wird in einen oberen Abschnitt, den Nasopharynx, und einen unteren Abschnitt, der aus Oropharynx und Hypopharynx besteht, unterteilt. Der Nasopharynx liegt über dem weichen Gaumen und kommuniziert mit den Atemwegen der Nase. Der Oropharynx reicht vom weichen Gaumen und dem Gaumensegel bis zur Epiglottis. Der Hypopharynx erstreckt sich von der Spitze der Epiglottis bis zum unteren Rand des Ringknorpels. Die Bezeichnung Waldeyer’scher Rachenring bezieht sich auf den Ring aus lymphatischem Gewebe, der sich über den gesamten Naso- und Oropharynx erstreckt und die Gaumen-, Rachen-, Zungen und Tubentonsillen umfasst.
