Die Verordnungen der Antimykotika zu Lasten der gesetzlichen Krankenversicherung (GKV) lagen in 2005 insgesamt auf dem niedrigen Niveau des Jahres 2004, in dem die Verordnungen als Folge des GKV-Modernisierungs-Gesetzes (GMG) und des damit verbundenen Verordnungsausschlusses nicht verschreibungspflichtiger Arzneimittel aus der Erstattungspflicht der GKV gegenüber den Vorjahren um fast 50 % zurückgegangen waren. Topische Monopräparate wurden 2005 insgesamt nochmals um 7% seltener verordnet als 2004. Leichte Zunahmen ergaben sich dagegen insgesamt mit jeweils 5% bei den topischen Kombinationspräparaten sowie bei den oralen Antimykotika. Dennoch lassen sich in 2005 bei den topischen Antimykotika Substitutionseffekte festmachen. So wurden im Gegensatz zu 2004 verschreibungspflichtige Ciclopirox-haltige Monopräparate und corticosteroidhaltige Kombinationen deutlich häufiger verordnet, während die nicht verschreibungspflichtigen Antimykotika weiter rückläufig waren.
